Today we are campaigning ahead of the 13 August by-elections in Nelson Mandela Bay.
It is good to be in Port Elizabeth, the City that will be the next frontier for the DA in 2016!
These by-elections will go down to the wire and that’s why we need every single DA voter to get to the polls so that we can make sure these wards are blue come Wednesday.
The momentum we are building here today will carry us into the 2016 elections and beyond, as we campaign for a DA government in Nelson Mandela Bay.
In the 2014 elections we successfully brought the ANC under 50% in PE. In 2016 we can go one step further and govern this metro.
More and more voters are recognizing the DA difference in government and putting their support behind the blue machine.
And the DA difference shows in the audit outcomes of ANC-governed PE, and DA-governed Cape Town.
Cape Town was the only metro to get a clean audit in the latest audit reports released this week.
In contrast, not a single municipality in the Eastern Cape got a clean audit, including Nelson Mandela metro.
In fact the audit found that in Nelson Mandela metro, the huge amount of R270 million was lost to unauthorized expenditure. Not a single cent in DA-governed Cape Town was wasted on unauthorized expenditure.
When the DA takes over Nelson Mandela Bay we will make sure the hundreds of millions lost to corruption each year goes to better service delivery instead.
And the march to victory begins with your vote in the 13 August by-elections. Let’s turn Nelson Mandela Bay blue!
