One of Limpopo’s oldest political parties, the Ximoko Party, was formed in 1984 as a cultural organisation by the then Prime Minister of Gazankulu Hudson Ntsanwisi. The party lost popularity after the 1994 elections. Ximoko is citing corruption as one of the reasons they believe people will vote for them. The party is on a major drive, recruiting unemployed youth in and around Giyani in Limpopo.
Party Secretary General, Mackson Rikhotso says Ximoko are determined to take over the provincial government so that they can make sure that they service the people in the provincial government. The party is hoping to garner more votes in areas such as Giyani, Letaba and Thulamela.
This information is gathered from the IEC and the above party website or publicly available documents.
