Dynamic independent broadcast and entertainment professional, Buli G Ngomane, has been invited to speak at a global Leadership Advancement Conference to be held in Gauteng.

Dynamic independent broadcast and entertainment professional, Buli G Ngomane has been invited to speak at the upcoming Leadership Advancement Conference in Gauteng this week as part of Women’s Month celebrations in South Africa. She joins a line-up of national and international women in leadership who will present various empowering topics.

The conference will take place over three days from tomorrow, the 24th to the 26th of August, at the Holiday Inn, in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Buli G has received numerous awards and recognition for the significant role she has played in shaping and encouraging the elevation of women in leadership roles, specifically in the radio, television, entertainment and marketing spheres.

She was acknowledged as one of Mail Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans for 2011; is a Tomorrow’s Leader Award winner at CEO Magazine’s: SA’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government Awards for 2010/11 in the category Telecommunications, Media, TV, Radio Press. She has been included in The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber’s Top 40 under 40, and has been awarded the Regional Business Achiever Award in the corporate category by the Business Women’s Association.

Buli G is currently the Regional Director for the Creative Industries Coalition.

“I often say that my current role is a story of overnight success that was 20 years in the making. Not only am I practitioner in a creative field but I also now advocate for the advancement of Creative Industries as a whole,” said Buli.

As presenter of the women’s empowerment programme “The Power Within” on SABC 3, Buli showcased the trials and triumphs of various women on their journey to success.

“Doing that show sensitized me to the importance of telling young people that the challenges are not insurmountable. So many women succeed against tremendous odds.”

With such a diverse background, it should not come as a surprise that Buli G will be sharing her insights on how to adapt to changes in ones’ career and the values of being flexible and open minded.

“The truth is that no person is ever going to be interested in just one thing for the rest of their lives,” she said.

“My talk is about how you can identify your changing interests, and take calculated risks. Taking on a new career in a different field does not mean you have to start from scratch. You don’t forget everything you have already learnt, just because you have chosen a new direction for yourself. You simply have to be creative in applying your existing skills to the new tasks at hand,” she said.

Buli G is scheduled to talk on the third day of the conference on Friday, the 26th of August.
