Together with many appealing Westbourne Road shops, key organisers Little Cherub Dancewear and Best Beds have collaborated in bringing a carnival oozing with exciting potential to Port Elizabeth’s annual events calendar.
The first carnival took place on the evening of 9 November and saw an element of fun for the whole family.
“We want to make people aware of the stunning shops in our street, because there truly is such a wide variety for shoppers of all ages to choose from. We want to awaken an often forgotten part of Port Elizabeth and in essence, we want to help keep Westbourne Road alive,” said Anthoula Buchner of Little Cherub Dancewear.
As the road was closed off by the Nelson Mandela Bay Traffic Department, entertainment for the evening included two giant jumping castles that towered into the sky supplied by KW Amusements and Events, who also partnered with PEazy Projects in supplying a magnificent portable stage that saw tap dancers from Ellen Bunting Dance Academy, perform.
There were also live musical performances throughout the evening as well as various food and drink stalls that were sold out by the evening’s conclusion.
Organisers have received a tremendous amount of positive and encouraging feedback from the public, and have already started planning for the next Westbourne Road Carnival that will take place in the early months of 2016.
