Local Filmmaker and Photographer, Ryan Moss, presents the premier of his documentary called “Breaking the Habit” at Bridge Street Brewery on Sunday, 5 March at 18:00.
This powerful story is the journey of Bboying and breakdancing professional, Cheslyn Meyer, is captured in the Northern Areas of Port Elizabeth to inspire the community and help save the youth from the daily challenges that they face there.
The latest offering from Urban Cowboys, in association with Pastor Justin Oliphant, from Awehness Productions, takes you through this gutsy and inspiring life story of Cheslyn Meyer and gives viewers an inside understanding of the life in Schauderville, breaking all preconceptions about the vibrant yet notorious Northern Areas of Port Elizabeth.
Pastor Oliphant also shares his own experiences and insights as well as his own background of Bboying and networking with the community to bring about change.
Ryan shares Cheslyn’s life story and the motivation that led him to constantly want to break the habit of hopelessness that has constantly engulfed his community due to gangsterism, gun violence and substance abuse. He represents the new cool, the positive cool.
Cheslyn Meyer is a living example of people, passion, and purpose as he tries to usher in a new generation of positive skilled thinkers and game changers.
