Wandile Mbambeni – Live and Unplugged @ Beerhouse on Long – Long Street, Cape Town.
Afro-soul sensation Wandile Mbambeni hails from Port Elizabeth, where he was enrolled in the EP Kings rugby academy. Only he spent more time sitting on the couch playing guitar than tackling people, and after hearing him practice a few times it was his teammates who prodded him into becoming a performer. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind for the man from the Eastern Cape, but he’s riding it like a pro.
Wandile Mbabmbeni hails originally from East London and played at scrumhalf for Hudson Park first team from age 16.
Mbambeni went on to play for the Border Bulldogs before being picked to play for the EP Kings Under 21 Academy side in 2013 wher ehe had two starts during the Under-21 Provincial Championship – against the Griffons and Griquas.
Wandile has now moved on to playing music and is presently in Cape Town.
He got his break in Eat London; “It was by chance. I was looking for a holiday job, just to make some money. I went to the Vincent MuggBean and asked if I could set up my equipment there and sing.”
