CAPE TOWN – Cooperative Governance Minister Des Van Rooyen says he does not know who authorised the removal of the controversial Danny Jordaan billboard in Port Elizabeth.
In response to a Parliamentary question by the Democratic Alliance (DA), Van Rooyen said the municipality has not yet given him an answer.
The DA is upset that the billboard, which read, “Danny Jordaan, proudly brought to you by Jacob Zuma” was removed barely a day after it was put up.
At the time the metro said no one claimed responsibility for the ad.
The DA’s Athol Trollip said, “When Minister Van Rooyen responded, he said that the response from the metro was that they were not sure who issued the instruction to have the billboard removed.”
