On 11 June 2014 six large trucks (over 5 ton) once again caused utter chaos at Engen Bluewater Bay.
- There was a huge truck parked illegally in Weinronk Road with a double axle trailer. Not only was he parked illegally, he was also in a 5 ton restricted area.
- A colleague of his was in the Engen Bluewater Bay courtyard with the same size truck busy filling up. He was also there illegally as he had to drive through a 5 ton restricted area 5 ton restricted roads to get there.
- There were 3 more big trucks illegally standing behind Engen Bluewater Bay, all waiting to fill up. This is also a 5 ton restricted area, with all roads leading to and from it being 5 ton restricted as well.
- Another truck was also trying to get into the Engen Bluewater Bay courtyard at the time.
That is a total of 6 trucks that were way over the 5 ton restriction.
This all happened at the same time at around 17:30 in the evening, which is peak time for everyone coming home or going to the shopping complex next to Engen Bluewater Bay.
Members from Bluewater Bay Sector Policing were there trying to speak to the drivers of the trucks. All (except one driver) were extremely rude and aggressive to the policing members trying to do their jobs. The traffic department was also called in to assist with the situation.
Staff from Engen also interfered and were rude towards the policing members. It has now gotten to a point where the Engen staff are interfering by being extremely rude towards the policing members and traffic officials on a regular basis.
We have encouraged all the parties that were involved to lay official complaints about the Engen staff members.
It is sad to see the Engen Head Office still seems to turn a blind eye to this, while we as the Bluewater Bay community have to struggle with this blatant disregard for the laws and by-laws.
