Operation smile Madiba Bay is a registered Public Benefit Organisation working in the community district of Port Elizabeth. The core focus of professional service offered by the organisation is a discipline of Paediatric Palliative Care. This constitutes the holistic care and well-being of clinically referred children who suffer the impact of any life limiting or life threatening disease.
From the 26th of October to the 7th of December, McDonalds Port Elizabeth will be donating R1 to Operation SMILE Madiba Bay every time you upsize your fries. The initiative will be supported by all the Port Elizabeth franchises and will be implemented in association with Kingfisher FM.
McDonalds has committed to donating up to a total of R20 000 to the organisation and encourages the public to participate. Each Port Elizabeth store will have a Chip Meter inside so that the public are able to track the store’s donation to date. Each of the four stores have a R5000 donation goal.
“We always like to get the public involved in our CSR projects as we realise that their participation in whatever we do whether it is in our business or other investments such as our corporate social responsibility, we can only reach maximum success through their participation,” says Frank Greyling, franchise owner of the four McDonalds in Port Elizabeth.
“We wanted to choose a charity that works within our community and makes a difference in our own city. Operation Smile has been doing amazing work and we want to support them in doing so, but need the public’s support as well,” added Frank.
Editor’s Note: I am sure a certainly Port Elizabethan will relish those early morning fries and assuage the guilt by upsizing frequently ……..
