Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will connect with the rest of the country on today to lead in the first day of a national campaign themed Vikela Mzansi – Kwanele! Communities United in Preventing Violence Against Women and Children. The 16 Days of Activism Campaign of No Violence Against Women and Children runs until 10 December.
Blitz and Road Show
This annual awareness campaign highlighting the evil of violent crimes against vulnerable groups in society will see different activities take place including a planned road show and blitz at the Mfanasekhaya Gqobose and Lilian Diedericks Buildings by leading female Councillors of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.
Media Briefing and March
A media briefing is planned at the Port Elizabeth City Hall from 09:00 followed by a march for Justice and Action from the Vuyisile Mini Square to the Port Elizabeth High Court in Bird Street, Central.
Dialogue regarding the Justice System
A dialogue regarding the South African Justice System is expected to start from 11am with the Commission for Gender Equality, survivors, former offenders, the National Prosecuting Authority and other role-players expected to participate.
