Police have arrested two men for being in possession of 300 mandrax tablets following a routine patrol in Kwazakhele.
Police spokesman, warrant officer Dumile Gwavu, said police had stopped two men, aged 28 and 21, in a vehicle during routine patrols and had asked if they could search the vehicle.
“The search revealed three packets of mandrax, with each packet containing 100 tablets, as well as a large amount of cash believed to be from earlier sales of the drugs, ” said Gwavu.
Gwavu said the drugs had a street value in excess of R24,000.
The two men were arrested and are facing charges of drug possession and dealing.
