Two men have briefly appeared for the murder of an elderly woman in Kei Mouth last week.
Police spokesman, Lt Col Sibongile Soci, said Siyabonga Ntshabalala, 26 and Zukisani Tulani, 24appeared briefly in the Kei Mouth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, facing charges of murder.
The two were arrested by Kei Mouth Detectives in Culu Township, the day after the murder of 75-year-old Anne Robert, in Kei Mouth last week Thursday.
It is alleged that the two men broke into Roberts home, where she apparently lived alone, tied her hands behind her back with a cable and later murdered her.
“The motive for the murder forms part of the investigation which is currently underway,” said Soci.
Soci said more charges were likely to be added against the two men. They have been remanded in custody and will appear in court on the 3 October 2012.
