Two brothers from Cape Town, who were arrested earlier this week, will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates Court today facing 60 charges, some of which date as far back as 1999.
Police arrested the two men, along with a third accomplice, in Central earlier this week.
Police spokesman, Captain Stanley Jarvis, said the one brother is facing 40 charges, while his brother has 20 charges against him, including charges for burglary, armed robbery, theft, theft of motor vehicle, being in possession of stolen goods and being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.
The cases against the brothers are registered at police stations along the coast from Cape Town through to Port Elizabeth.
Jarvis said the only police station that did not have a case registered against the brothers was Kabega Park.
He said the men were arrested by members of the Humewood Drug squad on patrol in Central on Monday afternoon. The police got suspicious when the men battled to start their car.
On closer inspection it was found that the car was stolen from Gelvandale and the men were arrested.
