A rant that missed the video above came from Kwanele Khathi – ?@KsKhathi, who said; “Another young black snob.” in reaction to the Tweet about Hlomela’s great success. Unlike most people I really do try to understand where people are coming from when they post angry tweets, but in this case, I remain confused as the majority of young Kwanele’s tweets were those of an intellectual (NO, I will not say SNOB!) trying to be the voice of reason and the WHAM out comes this ‘Black Snob’ comment.
Of course evil forces could have kidnapped Kwanele and be forcing him into this tirade against a clearly hard working young woman (NO, I will not say that the tirade is actually against WOMEN) or an evil partner could have hijacked his account after Kwanele expressed a manly desire to meet with Hlomela. Who Knows?
So I sent him a message as follows – with images of some of his measured tweets attached:
Please help me out of my confusion here.
As someone involved in International Relations and a Bibliophile (according to your Twitter Bio) I am confused as to why you would come out of left field and say that SA’s Youngest Parlimentarian – Hlomela Bucwa – is: “Another young black snob.”
That view is certainly not consistent with your demeanour and selection of tweets below.
Maybe we should meet and have a beer – before or after a hug – and a natter? I really would like to understand your anger.
By the way Kwanele – it is the last two Tweets that really have me confused for the simple reason that Cricket is not the poster boy/person for transformation – in fact less so than the Blue Party…..
