I have previously written to you about the lack of understanding that motorists have regarding Mini Circles. (http://mype.co.za/new/the-proper-way-to-approach-a-traffic-and-mini-circle/14990/2012/07) Please would you place this information on MyPE again? There is clearly still a high level of ignorance amongst drivers regarding the difference between Mini circles and Traffic circles. www.circles.org.za explains everything very clearly.
At a Mini Circle – essentially the first vehicle to cross the line has the right of way. This works in much the same way as a four way stop.
At a Roundabout – drivers entering the roundabout shall turn to the left and travel round the roundabout in a clockwise direction, whilst yielding to right-of-way to traffic approaching from the right, within the round-about, where such traffic is so close as to constitute a danger or potential danger.
