A weekend of sunny weather and clear Karoo skies is forecast for the annual SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees.
“If the weather predictions are right then we will enjoy the best weather ever in the 15 year history of the festival,” says director Jenni Honsbein.
According to various weather sites on Friday, June 24 the maximum will be 27 degrees Celsius with a minimum of 16. Saturday, June 25 the maximum will be 22 and the minimum only 13. And on Sunday, June 26 the temperature will rise to 27.
“It is the perfect weather for the whole family to enjoy experiences such as the Zip Zap Circus, the Walk on the Wildside, the Frozen Faerie Fable, a 14 metre bag jump, shopping at over 350 stalls, seeing the latest in new vehicles and farming equipment and more.
“With even the nights being warmish we expect record crowds for the evening entertainment, which will see many of the country’s top artists on the biggest stage in the Eastern Cape,” says Honsbein.
Headline acts include Snotkop and Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels on Friday, Bok van Blerk and EDEN on Saturday, and Lianie May and Ray Dylan on Sunday afternoon.
They will follow a “Keep it Country” show with Lance James and other country stars celebrating 40 years of Country Music in South Africa.
