Those who know me are aware that I welcome praise but am not able to adequately express my gratitude to those who do praise me.
I can come across as a bit of a cold fish but all that I am really feeling is a bit of embarrassment as I do not really feel worthy of praise.
That is all changing slowly, though – Read: Why someone said to me; “Buying non alcoholic beer is like paying a hooker to cuddle!” to understand a bit more why I say that.
This past weekend was a really good one for me as I came in for some praise from two people:
On Saturday morning an old school mate of mine, Gavin, ‘sideswiped’ me with a heap of praise for my unsung work in promoting and supporting many individuals and businesses to get ahead in this strange online world that I appear to be a bit of a legend in. Thanks Gavin – much appreciated and all the strength to you, brother.
On Sunday afternoon a new yacht owner, Des, heaped praise upon my personage for the stand/s that I take on MyPE every so now and then and the prodigious output that I produce day after day in support of a city and community that I love with passion. Des you are a scholar and a gentleman, if I appeared a bit stand offish it is only because I don’t feel as though I should take any credit – those people who are brilliant and even those who are lower than brain dead deserve the praise.
Should you wish to give praise and thanks rather pay it forward and help make our city THAT one that everyone loves but can’t quite fathom why they do.
