The Maher Container Terminal Building at Port Elizabeth has reopened after it was evacuated Tuesday due to a gas leak.
The leak was capped and trucks were let off the terminal, which reopened for business at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The leak was triggered when a water main burst at around 3 p.m.
The Elizabethtown Gas spokesperson said the main was shut down while repair work is done. Crews responded to the report of a damaged gas line and worked to stop the flow of gas.
The terminals closed their gates and kept vehicles out until the gas main was shut off. All the vehicles already on the property were kept in place.
There were no injuries or other damage.
