This has probably come up before, but I believe it’s time someone acted upon their feelings…is it really necessary to have so many large humps in close succession in Lovemore Heights, particularly going up Greenways Avenue and Barney road, as well as Constance Road?
It’s really annoying and I have actually concluded that my fuel consumption is a lot higher due to the humps. I climb 7-10 humps on my way home depending on my route. If I leave home twice and return per day, that makes 28 humps that I have to go over within a 1.5km radius of my house. If I lived in the estate, this number would go up to 32 humps.
Furthermore, these humps are large, and not regular sized humps, and they seem to pose more of a threat than do any good to drivers. In addition to the humps, there are also traffic circles.
After long days at work, the humps can get so annoying that a resident wishes they could move to another area. Yes, this is extreme, and the feeling does pass…but I believe this frustration sits with many residents in the area.
I have received feedback on Facebook groups and at AGM meetings in my complex, and everyone so far is willing to sign a petition to have some of the humps removed. Not all of them need to be removed, and a logical number could remain behind (1-2 humps per road).
I was directed to MYPE, and told that you run petitions at times.
Pretty please could you help me get this one off the ground.
Does anybody have any connections anywhere that would be able to take a look at this issue? Surely one hump per stretch of road is enough?
