On 7 November 2012, Metro Security Services were acknowledged as the best Specialised Services supplier to catalytic converter manufacturers, SJM Flex SA for 2011.
SJM Flex’s awards ceremony, which was held earlier this month examined over 280 service providers to the company and identified their top service providers based on their performance for the previous year, explained Managing Director of SJM Flex SA, Deon Joubert.
Joubert said service providers were divided into eight categories, namely Specialised Services (Metro Security Services), Consumables (Hyflo), Consulting Services (QMS Consulting and Training), Material Suppliers (Industrial and Apparel Fasteners), Manufacturing (Air-Tek Manufacturing), Administration (KPMG), Logistics (Morgan Cargo) and Overseas (Korinox).
“Out of these eight individual categories, SJM Flex also acknowledged their overall supplier of the year, which this year went to Industrial and Apparel Fasteners,” said Joubert.
Metro Security Services Operations Director, Kaashief Niekerk, said the award was a feather in the cap for the security company, which was founded in 2003.
“Metro Security Services was the first security company in South Africa to obtain level one broad-based black economic empowerment status, and we also have an SABS issued ISO 9001:2008 certificate” he said.
Niekerk said the award reaffirmed Metro Security’s dedication to provide the best, most professionally managed, security and loss-control services to their clients.
“The recognition we have received from SJM Flex once again shows that a black company can provide quality service,” he said.
Niekerk said the recognition received from SJM Flex meant a great deal to his staff.
“It our staff that I want to thank, as it is through their hard work and dedication that we have achieved this success,” said Niekerk.
“We teach our staff that it no good to simply say that they have done their best, they have to succeed in doing what is necessary. We do not claim to be perfect but we are driven by the desire to serve our clients and protect them and their assets,” he said.
