Statistician-General Dr Pali Lehohla went on a walkabout in Silvertown informal settlement in Port Elizabeth on 22 March 2016.
The walkabout was to assess the progress of data collection as part of the Community Survey 2016.
The aim of the survey is to shed light on levels of delivery of basic services such as water, sanitation and electricity.
In 2011 the Silvertown area in Port Elizabeth was rated the worst area to live in in South Africa.
