University of Pretoria defender Siyabonga Shoyisa says winning 2-1 against Chippa United was a perfect way to celebrate his birthday.
The Vryheid-born right back turned 26 yesterday and the win was a cherry on top for the defender, however, he said it’s important for them to continue winning their games.
Tuks registered their first win last night when they overcame the PSL returnees at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
“I think the win was not only a way of celebrating his 26th birthday but the team’s efforts. We need to continue winning not to mark our personal milestones. We needed the win because we told ourselves not to play three games without a win. Football is strange, you lose games that you’re supposed to win and win the ones that are tough.
“Chippa gave us tough times and I think it was a balanced game. It was an end to end stuff but we need to take our games as they come. We’re happy for the win and now it’s time to welcome Free State Stars next week. Coming back to my birthday, I will see this weekend what I can do. I think I will get a cake and celebrate,” added the 26-year old.
Tuks welcome Ea Lla Koto next Wednesday at Tuks Stadium.
