‘Shabba’ on crutches

Posted: 2012-02-13 17:08

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala is on crutches, following an ankle injury over the weekend.

Tshabalala was tackled by a teammate during training on Saturday, but he is expected to make a quick return to action.

However, ‘Shabba’ will miss the match against Jomo Cosmos in midweek at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Amakhosi head coach Vladimir Vermezovic expects the midfielder to be fit for Chiefs’ clash against Moroka Swallows on February 18.

Chiefs are already without Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who will be sidelined for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, the Bafana Bafana vice-captain won the first Nissan Player of the Quarter at the club.

He was handed the keys to the Nissan Juke by one lucky supporter and he will drive the car for three months before handing it over to the next player.

In the end, a lucky Chiefs supporter will win the car outright.
