A man who robbed two Zimbabwean Nationals of an undisclosed amount of money at gunpoint in the Donkin Reserve yesterday is sitting behind bars thanks to the fast response of security guards in the area.
At around 11.45am yesterday a man approached the two Zimbabweans, who were selling caps and bags at the Donkin Reserve, pulled out a gun and demanded that they had over their money.
Guards from Metro Security Services, who were on patrol in the area, heard the commotion and gave chase, eventually catching up to the man at the Strand Street taxi rank.
The man was apprehended and a handgun recovered. He was handed over to police who charged him with armed robbery.
