As confirmed by the Siya crew, Chippa United are finalising the signing of Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Thamsanqa Sangweni.
Despite the club sending a press release to the crew on Tuesday unveiling the player, the chairman, Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi has informed the crew that they’re finalising the player’s move to Port Elizabeth and the deal should be concluded within the next 24 hours.
The Port Elizabeth-based club have also signed Nigerian midfielder, Ugonna Uzochukwu from Enugu Rangers.
The Chilli Boys are expected to unveil their new signings ahead of Sunday’s friendly match when they host Kaizer Chiefs at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Speaking to the crew, ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi, said the deal is almost sealed and done.
“We have tabled our offer to Mamelodi Sundowns and we expect to finalise all the papers tonight. We will therefore announce tomorrow. Yes, the club is already in PE and we’re getting ready for the game against Kaizer Chiefs,” said Mpengesi.
The crew will keep a close eye on developments in the NFD champions’ camp.
