The Gauteng Monday League goes into its fifth week today-where teams will be looking to catch up with log leaders Supersport United who top the table having won all their games.
The highlight of today’s fixtures will be the clash between Soweto based team Kaizer Chiefs and Jomo Cosmos. Ezenkosi held the glamour boys to a goalless draw in the ABSA Premiership at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium last Wednesday and seek revenge.
This mouth watering fixture game is played at Eldorado Stadium this afternoon at 15:30.
Log leaders Supersport United tackle University of Pretoria and will look to extend the gap as well as maintain their unbeaten run to six games and continue with their free scoring form.
The game will be played at the Groenkloof Stadium at 15H30.
University of Pretoria defeated Dynamos 2-1 on the weekend to remain top spot in the National First Division and Coach Steve Barker is not concerned about the results.
“This league is helping our players who do not feature in the first team and give them a chance to get game time and to be match fit.
“ We often play United in friendlies and the two teams often play each other in a regular bases, so it is not about winning and defeating, but more of developing our players, “he added.
The other fixtures are as follows:
Moroka Swallows vs Mamelodi Sundows, Delville Sports Ground 15H30.
Atlie vs FC AK, Makhulong Stadium 15H30.
Bidvest Wits vs Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Stadium 15H30.
