Last year the RAMfest organisers extended their national reach to include the Friendly City and brought Port Elizabeth audiences a taste of RAMfest magic. This year they do the same, as they bring you a DJ line-up set to blow you clean out of the water.
Olmeca Tequila and Audiomatik Events presents international DJ sensation Pendulum DJ Set Verse (Australia and England), an official sideshow of RAMfest 2013. Add to that a stellar SA line up including Das Kapital, Guns ‘N Lazers, DJ Kenichi, Le Prezident, Dane Mitchell, Down By Law, Downlowd Crew more and you are in for a night to remember!
Despite Pendulum not performing as a live band at the moment, their DJ’s Paul Harding and Ben Verse still actively perform the DJ set around the world and RAMfest 2013 welcomes them back after their stellar RAMfest tour in 2010.
Paul Harding en Ben Verse from Pendulum (Australia and England) will be returning to perform at RAMfest 2013.
South African favourite Das Kapital is also on the line up for Port Elizabeth. 21 year old music producer and Cape Town native Das Kapital broke into music consciousness with his bootleg of Bon Iver’s modern day classic “Skinny Love”, picked up by upfront music blog aggregator Hype Machine as #1 on the weekly chart three separate times.
Refusing to be tied down by any one genre, but deeply connected to the mood of his music, he aims to make people dance with intricate percussion, brooding melodies and dark basslines, whether it be on a dancefloor or through their headphones.
Always drawing from his surroundings, Das Kapital’s style is an ever-growing bank of tribal rhythms and heaving drums, twisted and chopped into something wholly his.
Currently, Das Kapital also hosts a widely enjoyed weekly Dance music show on Assembly Radio every Wednesday from 21:00 – 00:00 (GMT+2).
Guns ‘N Lazers, a popular DJ and MC duo from PE will also be performing at RAMfest in their hometown.
Guns ‘N Lazers started out as a way to play music to their friends. “We just wanted to have a platform for real electronic music.” So forget what you think electronic music is about. Guns ‘N Lazers is an audio-visceral experience. It is the soundtrack for a neo-cultural renaissance on the East Coast. It is about having a place to go where you can dance crazy and sweat with reckless abandon.
There will be two stages running to keep you entertained all night:
The Olmeca Electronic Stage will feature Pendulum DJ Set Verse, Das Kapital, Guns ‘N Lazers, DJ Kenichi, Le Prezident, Dane Mitchell, Down By Law, Downlowd Crew.
The Panache Stage will feature: Pete Larkin, Jay B, Morne Munro, Downlowd Crew and Renaldo.
Ticket Sales: Ticket Break, from R100.00 to R150.00 each.
