The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is hard at work to ensure that the pilot phase of its Integrated Public Transport System (IPTS) system (IPTS) will be launched in October 2012. For the commuters of Nelson Mandela Bay, this means that they will have access to reliable, safe and convenient public transport of world-class standard. In the Pilot phase, the buses will initially follow six routes only.
As the pilot phase will soon be launched, and for their own safety, all motorists are cordially requested to refrain from parking in any of the exclusive IPTS lanes. From Wednesday, 19 September 2012, cars found parked in the lanes will be impounded and motorists will be given a R600 fine.
The Municipality appeals to all motorists for their cooperation in this regard – please do NOT use the lanes – they are intended for the use of the IPTS buses! Only weeks to go before those powerful, luxury buses will be running down those lanes!
