As part of an oversight visit to facilities under the Public Health Directorate and also as a service delivery monitoring exercise, the Executive Mayor Cllr Athol Trollip and MMC for Public Health Marlon Daniels kicked off their day from 5:45am this morning by joining refuse collection teams in the KwaFord Waste Management Depot, in Struandale, as they went about their work to understand their daily routine. This provided an insight into the challenges faced by the teams and how these can best be addressed to improve service delivery. Residents also had an opportunity to engage the Mayor on how things can best be improved and also reflected on other service delivery related matters such as water leaks.
Areas such as Koedoeskloof, a waste disposal site in Uitenhage, Kabah Cemetery, Magennis Park, KwaDwesi Cemetery, Pond 6 in Seyisi in KwaZakhele, were all visited to look at how best to transform them into better public spaces that communities can be proud of. This exercise is also informed by this government’s commitment to clean up the Metro.
