The African National Congress Nelson Mandela Region’s Business Professionals’ Forum (BPF) has welcomed the hosting of the ANC Eastern Cape’s 7th Provincial Conference in Nelson Mandela Bay from 27 to 29 June 2013, saying that the hosting thereof will positively contributes to the local economy.
The ANC Eastern Cape’s 7th Provincial Conference will see approximately 2 500 delegates descend on the shores of Nelson Mandela Bay. Amongst the delegates will be National, Provincial and Local Government Ministers, Members, Councillors and Officials, labour leaders, business leaders, NGO representatives, lobby group and stakeholder representatives, religious leaders, youth, women and people with disability leaders, and a host of other stakeholders, including of course the media.
The attendees will spend money while in the Bay, book accommodation establishments, hire cars, eat at restaurants, visit entertainment and tourist attractions, and thereby contribute to the local economy. In addition, the exposure of Nelson Mandela Bay, its beauty, splendour, plethora of activities and attractions, tranquility, flora, fauna and friendly people will ensure that we use this opportunity to reassert ourselves as a major tourist destination.
The ANC Nelson Mandela Region’s BPF urges all comrades who attend the Conference or who participate in the fringe events and activities to take advantage of the opportunity during the breaks in the Conference programme to explore the sights, sounds and experiences of Nelson Mandela Bay. Simultaneously, those involved in investment and trade should see what business opportunities are on offer in the Bay and surrounds and make efforts to capitalise on such opportunities.
The BPF says that the ANC Eastern Cape Province’s decision to host the Conference in Nelson Mandela Bay as it will cause a timely injection into the local economy.
