“The GCIS Eastern Cape office, in partnership with municipalities, has organised public viewing events across the province. This is in keeping with government’s commitment to mobilise South Africans to actively participate in government programmes,” spokesman Ndlelantle Pinyana said in a statement.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on Saturday at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
“The presidential inauguration is a national activity that is of major significance to all South Africans with historical importance,” said Pinyana.
Viewing areas would include the Nelson Mandela Bay Uitenhage Allanridge Hall in Kamesh, the Cacadu Blue Crane Madiba Community Hall in Cookhouse, and the Buffalo City Metro East London Gompo Hall in Duncan Village.
Other viewing venues included the JJ Njeza Senior Secondary School in Qina Village, the Chris Hani Inkwanca Molteno Town Hall in Molteno, the Joe Gqabi Senqu Bhunga Hall in Sterkspruit, and the Lundzwane Junior Secondary School in Lundzwane Village.
Viewing at all the venues will commence at 9am on Saturday.
