CAPE TOWN – Eastern Cape police say an investigation into a fatal plane crash near the Addo Elephant National Park is expected to take up to six weeks.
Officials found the wreckage on Saturday night.
The aircraft was flying along with two other planes from Port Alfred to Port Elizabeth last week, before it disappeared.
It is unclear what caused the plane to crash.
The police’s John Fobian says the pilot died during the crash.
“The wreckage of the plane was discovered in the elephant park. We proceeded to the scene and did initial investigations. The investigation will be ongoing and will take approximately six weeks to complete.”
