The Plantation in Port Elizabeth was announced as SA’s highest rated wedding venue, when it received a Gold award in the African Bridal Industry Academy (ABIA)’s Coastal Bride’s Choice Awards in Durban on Tuesday 21 August 2012.
The ABIA Bride’s Choice Awards aims to recognise wedding suppliers that provide exceptional service. Over 27000 brides countrywide nominated and rated some 4000 suppliers in four categories – quality of product and service, attitude of staff and value for money. The Plantation was rated with a near perfect score of 99.58%, placing it as SA’s highest rated wedding reception centre.
Sarah Dirsuwei, Co-Owner / Manager of The Plantation says; “This is a huge achievement for The Plantation and for Port Elizabeth. Many of our clients and their wedding guests reside overseas, or elsewhere in South Africa, and travel to Port Elizabeth specifically for their weddings. This generates millions of Rands into the Eastern Cape tourism industry, with guests requiring accommodation, transport and entertainment. The Gold Bride’s Choice Award is a big draw card for couples planning their wedding, as it guarantees an exceptional level of service and client satisfaction, and highlights Port Elizabeth as a world class wedding destination.”
“This is the third time that The Plantation has been voted as South Africa’s best wedding venue and is testament to the effort from our team to constantly improve our service delivery and exceed our clients’ expectations,” concludes Dirsuwei.
The Plantation was also recognised by SA Tourism with a Welcome Award in 2011, and Dirsuwei was named as one of Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chambers’ inaugural Top 40 Under 40 business people earlier this year.
