Johannesburg – A 33-year-old man convicted of raping a 6-year-old
girl was jailed for life by the Eastern Cape High Court in Port Elizabeth on
Thursday, the Eastern Cape National Prosecuting Authority said.
Spokesperson Tsepo Ndwalaza said Xolisile Tose wanted to
appeal against the sentence but was denied.
“The court dismissed his application for appealing
the jail sentence.”
Ndwalaza said Tose deserved to be jailed for life based
on what he did to the child.
“We are very pleased with the sentence because we
believe he deserves it.”
Tose raped a 6-year-old girl three years ago after luring
her to his home.
