The bail hearing of the 25-year-old Port Elizabeth woman accused of kidnapping a three-year-old toddler in Summerstrand over the weekend has once again been postponed.
Megan Diedericks was arrested on Sunday after police found her and the child, Nefrin Roberts in the bushes in Victoria Park Drive following a tip-off.
She allegedly struck up a conversation with the child’s grandmother at Pollock beach on Friday and later offered to buy her some cigarettes. She left with the baby and never returned.
Diedericks appeared in court for the second time on Wednesday for a formal bail hearing but the matter was postponed to 16 January for verification of her residential address.
She remains in police custody.
