Cape Town – The Paarl Rocks have progressed through to the Mzansi Super League playoffs after securing a win against the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants on Wednesday.
Man-of-the-match Cameron Delport saw the Rocks cruise to a bonus-point victory by six wickets at Boland Park.
Delport smashed 84 off 45 balls – including 7 fours and 5 sixes – before falling to Sisanda Magala.
The Rocks needed to reach their target of 130 before 16 overs to secure a bonus-point win and advance through to the playoffs and subsequently knocked the Giants and Tswhane Spartans out of the tournament.
The pick of the Giants bowlers was Magala, who finished on 2 for 15 in 3 overs.
Earlier in the day, the Jon-Jon Smuts won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Giants batsmen were never comfortable in the middle as they lost key wickets all round. Rudi Second was the best batsman for the Port Elizabeth-side as he made 37 off 41 balls.
West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the Rocks bowlers as he finished on figures of 3 for 22.
