Port Elizabeth, 14 November 2016: The following successes were achieved during this weekend (11-14 November 2016) in the Mount Road policing cluster. A total of 123 suspects were arrested for various crimes including possession of drugs, robbery, drunken driving, possession of suspected stolen property, murder, attempted murder, theft from motor vehicle, house robbery, unlawful possession of firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of dangerous weapons as well as possession of housebreaking implements. High density operations including were held in all areas within the cluster.
A total of 37 people were arrested on drug related cases. The Operational Command Centre Detective Tracing team also arrested 13 suspects for housebreaking and theft out of motor vehicles. One suspect is positively linked to 10 cases of theft out of motor vehicles which was mainly committed in the Humewood area.
On Sunday, 13 November 2016 at about 04:00 W/O VD Hempe from the Crime Combatting Unit operating from the Operational Command Centre at Mount Road was on his way home after performing duties, when he arrested three house robbery suspects. It is alleged that the suspects had just robbed a house in Greenbushes, Kabega Park while the complainant was asleep. The door was kicked open and entry gained. Cellphones, a DVD player and cash was taken. The complainant was also stabbed in his hand. A 9mm firearm was also confiscated by police and the property recovered. The third suspect was arrested with the assistance of SAPS Kabega Park members.

Always be alert and react to the slightest of noises that may be heard. Report any suspicions immediately to the police or the alarm company.
