NO CONCERT IN THE PARK THIS YEAR…….(nor the rest of the year)……
One of the very rare events that used to wake up the inhabitants of this ‘peaceful village next to the sea’, (at a difference of other CITIES around the country) was the performance of these kind of musical events related to music, arts and culture, where always there was more or less a feeling of public participation and integration, so much touted nowadays.
It happens that these events cost money, they don’t happen just because it is good…So, sponsorship and subsidies are the source of funding, but, not much unexpectedly.
Local business are not that interested in art activities as probably, they do not bring profit, and the major source, LOTTO seems reluctant to release promised funding which, I assume, is better reserved for events linked to the main political party and the government linked organizations, clubs, leagues, etc.
Sooo, I believe that money to be wasted in Youth Festivals, Party parties, international Kissing contests, etc, etc, etc. would be available quickly, because, it is more politically correct and justified, would it not?…..
And then…….the village dwellers complain why PeeYee does not have a CITY status……
