The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL) would like to advise motorists of night roadworks taking place this week in Port Elizabeth.
The Burman and Settlers (M4) off ramps in an Easterly direction will be closed tonight (Thursday, 30 June) and tomorrow evening (Friday, 1 July).
Road resurfacing will take place on the St George’s (Motherwell) interchange on-and-off ramps. The St George’s interchange will be closed on Saturday night (2 July) and then again from Monday, 4 July up until Thursday, 7 July.
On each occasion the work will start at 7pm and continue through the night before the roads are re-opened again at 5am the following morning.
There will be an access route and exit route via the interchange ramps and/or bridges.
Motorists are urged to travel with caution, plan their trips in advance or take alternative routes.
“Reduced speed limit will be enforced. Motorists must be observant of all lane closures and warning signs, and exercise extreme caution when travelling through the construction work zones,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region regional manager.
SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience caused.
