Night roadworks are continuing this week on the St Georges (Motherwell) interchange and Kempston interchange ramps, in Port Elizabeth. The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL) would like to advise motorists that the resurfacing work started on Wednesday and will last until Friday night (3 June).
On each occasion, work will start at 7pm and continue through the night before the roads are re-opened again at 5am the following morning.
There will still be access to and from the intersection, thus not all ramps will be closed simultaneously.
Resurfacing of the Kempston interchange ramp took place from Wednesday night and will conclude on Saturday (4 June). There will still be access to and from the intersection, thus not all ramps will be closed simultaneously.
There will always be an access route and exit route via the ramps of the intersection and or bridges.
“Roadworks take place at night to complete the project sooner. Motorists must be observant of all lane closures and warning signs, and exercise extreme caution when travelling through the construction work zones and plan their trips in advance,” said Mbulelo Peterson, Sanral Southern Region regional manager.
SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience caused.
