Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has given an indication which new signing is closest to making a debut for the club.
Sundowns have up to this point signed Mauricio Affonso and Sammy Seabi, while Nyiko Mobbie will be loaned out for the season.
Affonso, the South American striker, picked up an injury that has kept him out of the side’s last two matches against AS Otoho D’Oyo and SuperSport United and it’s unclear if he will be ready when the defending Absa Premiership champions take on Chippa United at Nelson Mandela Bay on Wednesday night (19h30).
Seabi, though, could get an opportunity to play in the famous yellow and blue colours of the Brazilians against the Chilli Boys.
“We have only two new players, Affonso and Seabi. I think Seabi is more closer because he does not have any injuries and he did his pre-season with Polokwane. So he is more closer than Affonso because Affonso did only, I’d say, 50 percent of the pre-season and he got injured. So Seabi is more closer,” the former Bafana Bafana coach said.
Seabi, meanwhile, has not been registered for the CAF Champions League as he joined when the registration period had already closed. Sundowns plan on registering him when the next window opens in December.
