The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality on Monday appealed to residents with vehicles to assist it by transporting their refuse to transfer stations after some of their refuse collection employees embarked on a strike.
“We advise and plead with those who have transport to take their refuse to nearby transfer stations,” said the municipality.
“There is a contingency plan currently in place, however due to conditions related to the strike, we expect delays in refuse collection.
“The municipality will update of any developments on this matter. The municipality would also like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this, efforts are currently being made to bring the situation to normal.”
