The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has welcomed Mzobanzi Jikazana as its new Communications Director on Thursday. This follows after the previous Communications Director, Roland Williams, resigned in November 2015.
Since then, Kupido Baron had been the Acting Director of Communications at the Metro.
Jikazana, who reported this morning for his first day in office, joined the Municipality after being the Director: Rapid Response for the Government Communications and Information System (GCIS) in Pretoria since November 2011.
Mzwake Clay, Chief Operating Officer, said Jikazana was an easy choice.
“He has extensive experience in government communications on a managerial level, was a Ministerial Spokesperson for the Former Minister of Labour Membathisi Madladlana and worked for radio and television prior to that.
“We wish him all the best and know that he will hit the ground running to provide the residents of Nelson Mandela Bay with continuous and updated municipal-related information,” Clay said.
