The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will bid farewell to Ward 56 Councillor Linda Kwitsana (42) with a Civic Funeral on Monday, 30 December from the Raymond Mhlaba Indoor Sports Centre.
Cllr Kwitsana sadly passed on at her Motherwell home on Saturday, 21 December after a long illness. Even though her health was deteriorating, she still served her community diligently and participated in the formal business of Council.
A flag will be hoisted this afternoon (24 December) at 15:00 at her home at 107 Bhadi Street, NU1, Motherwell in honour of a lady who entered politics in May 2011 when she was elected as a Ward Councillor for the African National Congress.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, 27 December at the NU2 Community Hall in Motherwell from 2pm.
A Civic Funeral will be held for her from 7am on Monday, 30 December. The funeral service takes place at the Raymond Mhlaba Sports Centre in Motherwell. The programme for the day will be communicated as soon as it is available.
