The ABC Motsepe League club based in Msinga in rural KZN might be lightweights, but they believe they stand a decent chance of pulling off an unexpected result this weekend against Ernest Middendorp’s men buoyed by their brilliant League form.
Natal currently top the KZN provincial stream of the KZN ABC Motsepe League.
“Our boys are motivated, but the truth is that we are not at the same level as Chippa,” Natal’s club owner Senzo Sokhela tells KickOff.com.
“Despite the difference in quality we will also have eleven players on the field just like them, so we will put on a fight and they will feel us. Even though we are from a lower league it is possible that we can beat Chippa, this kind of thing has happened before,” he adds.
Natal were only formed in 2008 and are only in their third year in the country’s third tier League with all their players drawn from the Msinga Municipality.
Sokhela revealed the players’ excitement at the airport as they boarded a plane for the first time in their lives when heading to Port Elizabeth.
“It is also worth noting that our boys have been encouraged by the experience of travelling in an aeroplane for the first time in their lives,” he says.
“When we got to the airport in Durban, the boys were so happy that they will be travelling by air so that element is already a motivation for them.”
Kick-off at the Wolfson Stadium this afternoon is scheduled for 3pm.
