Watch as Port Elizabeth based Lee Ah Kun, in his guise as Mr Impossible – escape artist and bizarre stunt performer, practises some mind over matter stunts that he performed recently for members of the Animal Welfare Society Club 100.
Lee says; “My theme for this particular show centred around exploring the concept of “mind over body” and how one can utilise the mind/body connection to filter out and control pain.
As I already had the chance to wow the club’s members last time with some feats of escapology, I decided to break out some of my more bizarre type stunts this time round and entertained them with the following:
- Fire eating – extinguishing lit torches with my bare hands and mouth, including holding one between my teeth for a few moments.
- Human blockhead – hammering a 10cm nail into my head.
- Walking on broken glass – walking barefoot across 2 metres of broken pieces of glass, including a finale piece where an audience member stands on my chest while I lay down on top of the glass without my t-shirt.
The show was well received and certainly had everyone on the edge of their seats, with some even watching key moments through their fingers… lol
It was a pleasure being invited back and once again enjoyed lending my unique talents in support of the generous work the club does for the Animal Welfare Society in PE.”
