Chippa United’s David Zulu scored an impressive winner to shock Orlando Pirates on the weekend, becoming the talk of the league at the moment
Zulu was recently named in Shakes Mashaba’s Bafana Bafana squad that will take on Congo in their crunch Afcon qualifiers.
The forward’s club captain Andile Mbenyane spoke highly of the 28-year-old’s potential at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
“I’m happy for him you know, the guy is always working hard in training and there’s a lot to come from him.
“I wish he gets regular call-ups but we need to support him in terms of working hard to ensure he keeps scoring goals and help us and Bafana,” Mbenyane told the media.
The Chilli Boys’ have produced some surprising results already, showing signs that they could survive in the PSL this time around.
In the Telkom Knockout Cup last-16 round United will face defending champions, Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.
“We’re motivated as a team and two wins in a row against big teams is not an easy achievement but we need to remain humble and keep working hard,” he continued.
“We’re slowly playing together as a team and that means we need to keep pushing to get more results in the league.
“The games against Swallows and Pirates are a thing of the past now and we need to look ahead because there are more games to play.”
