Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Executive Mayor Benson Fihla, affectionately known as Oom Ben, today congratulated his Chief of Staff, Mr Bheza Ntshona, for raking in his fourth post graduate qualification which pushed up his tally of degrees to six.
“This is an excellent achievement and deserves recognition and praise as Ntshona is continuously working hard towards improving his academic achievements. This makes him a very valuable resource for the institution and we would like to thank him for the excellent example to other municipal employees and the public at large,” Oom Ben said.
Ntshona will be receiving a Masters Degree in Development Studies from the Free State University tomorrow morning.
Mr Bheza Ntshona matriculated at the Cowan High School and enrolled at the University of the Western Cape where he obtained a BA Degree and after that obtained a B-Tech Degree in Human Resources Management as well as a Diploma in Labour Law at the Graduate Institute for Management and Training. Ntshona, a former Chairperson of the South African Local Government Bargaining Council, obtained his first Masters Degree in Public Administration and Management from the former University of Port Elizabeth. He also obtained a Masters Degree from the Free State University in Governance and Political Transformation.
Ntshona played many leadership roles as he served in ANC Youth League as Regional Deputy Chairperson, Regional Chairperson, Provincial Secretary and was also National Executive Committee of the ANC Youth League. He also served in the ANC Provincial Executive Committee and was elected as the Western Region Secretary to the mother body of the political party and he became the Deputy Secretary of the Nelson Mandela Region. Ntshona was elected as a Councillor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and served with distinction as the Portfolio Chairperson of Human Resources and later as Portfolio Chairperson for Budget and Treasury.
Ntshona further served as the South African Local Government Bargaining Council, Salga Finance Committee Chairperson, Salga Human Resources Working Group provincially and nationally. He was also the Salga Job Evaluation or Moderation Commission Chairperson and is currently the Chief of the Staff of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Mayoral Office.
