News reaching the Siya crew is that Maritzburg United have signed a three-year partnership with the Msunduzi Local Municipality worth R36 million.
According to the agreement, the municipality will contribute R12 million a season to The Team Of Choice and also supporting the team with infrastructure.
Announcing the new partnership this morning, Msunduzi mayor Councillor Chris Ndlela said the partnership would benefit both parties.
“This partnership will benefit the people of the city and the team as the team will remain in the City of Choice,” Ndlela told the Maritzburg twitter account.
“The content of the entire partnership will be disclosed to the public,” added Ndlela.
Earlier, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality tried to lure the team to relocate to the Eastern Cape, but the Maritzburg management decided to stay in Pietermaritzburg.
Now the Team of Choice has been rewarded for their loyalty by the Msunduzi Local Municipality.
