Lanseria International Airport has announced a new route to Port Elizabeth in partnership with Mango airlines. Bookings for the first flight commencing on 11 July have already opened.
The introduction of the new PE route comes shortly after the recent successful launch of Mango’s only direct Zanzibar-Lanseria flight. “We’re excited to welcome this new route to our airport as our passenger numbers and demand for more routes continue growing,” says CEO of Lanseria International Airport, Rampa Rammopo.
Marketing manager of Mango Benediction Zubane notes that the PE route was a natural expansion for the airline based on how well the direct Zanzibar-Lanseria route has been received. “Port Elizabeth is a popular local and tourist travel destination, boasting a number of historical attractions. Whale-watching is also a favourite activity this time of year.”
He adds that the airline has received numerous requests from Lanseria passengers with family in PE for a direct flight to the city given the convenience that Lanseria offers. “The airport’s location in the north means it’s easily accessible for both business and leisure travellers. It’s also the gateway to the Cradle of Humankind and other tourist attractions in the North West and Johannesburg – making it a destination of choice.”
